Online tests for neurodiversity

Start your journey to self-discovery with our free neurodiversity tests.

Our free online neurodiversity tests can help you understand more about yourself and whether you may have traits of a neurodivergence such as dyslexia, adhd or autism. The tests are not designed to give you a diagnosis, but the questions and results may help you to understand if you are displaying some of the common behaviours and thoughts associated with neurodivergence. For a diagnosis, you must be assessed by a qualified professional.

Struggling to work out which of our neurodiversity tests to take?

All tests offer you a confidential start on your journey to self-discovery.

The neurodiversity tests explore difficulties you may face in work, study and everyday life, which could be as a result of a neurodivergence. It can help you to understand where you may benefit from further support in work, study or everyday life.

Our dyslexia, ADHD and autism tests help you to explore if you are displaying traits of these neurodevelopmental conditions. They look at the difficulties you might face in work, study and everyday life, and can indicate whether or not they might be linked to neurodivergence.

Whilst the tests are unable to provide a diagnosis, they may be a useful place to start when exploring your neurodivergence and can help you understand where you may benefit from further support.

What is neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity is a word used to describe the range of differences in the way we each think, feel and behave because of differences in our experiences and the way our brains work.Diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia are natural variations of the human brain referred to as neurodivergence.

Rather than viewing these differences as deficits, neurodiversity celebrates the diverse ways our brains work. By understanding how your brain works and your cognitive profile, you can find strategies to help you thrive in work, study and everyday life.

What do the tests involve?

Each test has 10-24 expertly crafted questions and scenarios that cover various topics, including social interactions, communication styles, attention span and other cognitive processes that may highlight neurodivergent behaviours and traits.

At the end of the test, we will ask for your email address so we can send your results and other useful information.

Do the results give me a diagnosis?

The results are not a diagnosis, they are indicative only.

You may find the questions and results useful to understand if you are displaying some of the common behaviours and thoughts associated with different types of neurodivergence.

If the tests highlight that you might have neurodivergent traits, you may wish to seek a diagnosis through your GP or other provider.

Aim Forward can help with specific learning difficulty diagnoses, such as dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia and dyscalculia. All of our diagnostic assessors are either educational psychologists registered with the HCPC, the British Chartered Psychological Society, or  specialist assessors with an  Assessment Practising Certificate from AMBDA, PATOSS or Dyslexia Guild.

How should I answer the test?

Answer the questions as honestly as possible to benefit from a personalised set of results.

What do I do once I have my results?

Are you looking for a diagnosis?

Online tests can be a useful place to start when you are in the early stages of exploring your neurodivergence, but they do not give you a diagnosis. They offer limited insight into your experiences and are not always considered accurate.

A formal diagnosis can be useful for those who feel they would benefit from having specific terms for their experiences, or for those who need a diagnosis to access support like Access to Work, exam arrangements, Disabled Students’ Allowance or reasonable adjustments.

If the tests highlight that you might have neurodivergent traits, you may wish to seek a diagnosis through your GP or other provider.

Aim Forward can offer diagnostic assessments for specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia, ADHD,  dyspraxia and dyscalculia.
